What's New: Public Comment Now Closed
UC Santa Barbara is renewing its Long Range Development Plan (LRDP), a plan that details how the campus will develop to the year 2025. The draft LRDP and accompanying Environmental Impact Report (EIR) were circulated in Spring 2008, and public comment closed June 2008. As a result of comments received and questions raised, we rewrote and recirculated several chapters of the draft EIR, including those on water supply & demand, wastewater capacity, traffic modeling, population and housing, and greenhouse gas emissions.
Public comment on these chapters extended for seven weeks beginning in February 2009, and closing on March 30, 2009. A community workshop was held on March 12 to provide information about the new material addressed in the recirculated chapters.
Responses to comments will be incorporated into the Final LRDP and EIR, anticipated for release in Summer, 2009. The documents will be available on this Web Site. The LRDP and EIR will proceed to the UC Board of Regents, followed by the California Coastal Commission, for review and anticipated approval in 2010.
A pdf version of the chapters is available on our Download Documents & Materials page.
